God Guides Us

"Go down with him, fear not" (2 Kings 1:15)

These are the words spoken by the angel of the LORD to prophet Elijah when he was at the top of a hill.

What were the fears of prophet Elijah?

1. The fear about the anger of the King as he prophecised that the king will die in his sickness because he forgets the LORD God
2. The fear about going with the captain as he was summoned by the king because of the unwelcomed prophecy
3. The fear about the army of a captain of fifties sent in search of him twice
4. The fear about his life as the king's family and his army were searching him to take his life
5. The fear about the people who are supposed to accompany him on his way to be summoned before the king as they might kill him on the way.

Dear friends, many times worries about the people who accompany us troubles us a lot. We are in a position unable to predict who is good and who is not. Through each circumstances only we could identify whom to rely. People around us seem to be friendly but on the other side they envy us, they mock at us, they criticise us, back bite us, talk ill about us, even try to pull us down. But today the angel of the LORD who was with the prophet guiding him with whom he should go promises us "Fear not!" He will show us whom to rely on. He will be our guide and our teacher. The best companion to protect us and to take care of us amidst all life-taking circumstances also. So let us put our trust on the LORD and ask Him to guide and lead us, though many stand against us and however strong and powerful they are,so that He will take away all our fears.

Have a blessed day!
