God Will Chase Our Enemies

"Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee" (Joshua 10:8)

These are the words of the LORD God spoken to His servant Joshua who was leading the great army of people to help the people of Gibeon against its enemies.

What were the fears of Joshua?

1. The fear about the battle because the he is leading the battle to help the people of Gibeon
2. The fear about the enemy army: five kings were joined together along with their host to meet Joshua and the people of Gibeon
3. The fear about his army travelling all through the night and to meet those five kings and their huge hosts in battle

This was a plot conspired by one king against the people of Gibeon. He called all the kings of that place to help him in order to crush the people of Gibeon. When the news reached about the coming of this huge army, the people of Gibeon send word to Joshua seeking for his help in the battle to save them from that huge army.

Even in our lives many times we face such problems. People talking behind us, backstabbing, spreading rumours about us, talking ill about us, conspire against us - against our promotions, hard works, investments, and so on. Many times we feel tired of traveling to meet against them. Many times we feel discouraged because of all the words that were spoken against us. It seems all our strength have left us. At times we hide ourselves from this world, avoid contacts and meetings. When the pressure within us gets on increased we want to go to a lonely place and open our mouth and cry aloud.

But today the same God who spoke to Joshua says, "Fear not!" He also promises us "for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee". So fear not, for our God is our strength. He will be our strength in our weaknesses. He will be our light when our path seems to be dark. He will be with us when we feel lonely. Our God will bring all the things that you face to an end. Have courage don't lose heart.  Put your faith on Him and He will lead you.

Have a blessed day!
