God Is Our Strength

"Be not afraid because of them" (Joshua 11:6).

These are the words of the LORD God spoken to His servant Joshua when he was about to meet a great host of armies.

What were the fears of Joshua?

1. The fear of facing many kings joined together in battle against him:
    #Jabin king of Hazor
    # Jobab king of Madon
    # king of Shimron
    # king of Achshaph
    # kings on the north of the mountains
     # kings on the plains south of Chinneroth
     # kings in the valley
     # kings in the borders of Dor on the west
     # kings of the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh

2. The fear of the vast army that was getting ready to meet Joshua and his people in the battle:
    # they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many

3. The fear about his own army as the people would have become tired and frustrated because of continuous battles

4. The fear about his people that they might turn against him because of battle with huge vast army might cost their lives

5. The fear about how long this battle will take and when this will get over.

Dear friends, many times it seems the whole world might come against us. There might be situations where we feel we do not have anyone standing beside us. We might get weary because of the continuous troubles and problems we face in our lives, the frustrations and the agony we undergo. Many times we fear that our own people might go against us. Continuous trials and temptations we face might make us to question the presence of God in our lives.

Today the same LORD God says to us, "Fear not!" He is with us and He will deliver everything to us that come against us. So be of good courage and take heart. Wait in His presence till He gives us victory over our situations. No matter who is with us, He is with us. So "Fear not!"

Have a blessed day!
