Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward (Gen 15:1)
The LORD says, "Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward" (Gen 15:1)
Abram was a righteous person who pleased God through his obedience and faith. But in his life, fear gripped him - about his future.
What is the fear of Abram?
- He doesn't have a proper place to dwell in the land along with his family and all that he has.
- He is too old and still he doesn't have a child.
- He feared of his future. There is no one to take care of all that he has, coz he is the richest of the people of his times.
Many times fear grips us. Fears about our family situations, about our kids, financial pressures, family issues, future, health problems, and so on. But the same God who said to Abram "Fear Not!" looks at you with a heart of love and compassion and says "Fear Not!"
God became his shield and his reward and he became blessed. So fear not, our God is protecting you and fills you with His goodness. Have a blessed day!
