God Cares For Us

"Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness...and will restore thee all the land of...thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually" (2 Samuel 9:7).

These were the words spoken by King David to Mephibosheth, son of his best friend Jonathan.

What were the fears of Mephibosheth?

1. The fear of his disability as he cannot do anything of his own, he has rely on someone because of his lame
2. The fear that his own people might betray him
3. The fear of losing all the possessions because of his inability
4. The fear about his future survival as his guardians might leave him alone and flee away.

Many times we too cross such situations in our life. We might be thinking about our inabilities, weaknesses, skill-lessness, etc. At times we need to rely upon our family or friends or someone else for our own survival. The fear that people might take advantage our lives, the fear that we are betrayed by the one's whom we trusted, the fear that whatever we possess might be snatched away from us.

When such fears grip us, we do not know what is our next step, where to go, who will help me, who can restore to me all that I have lost, who will take care of my future, whom I can trust.

Here King David says to a lame, weak, person Mephibosheth, "Fear not!" He took care of all his needs. He restored all his family possessed. He made him to dwell with him and eat daily from the King's table. What a privilege for this poor man.

Even today when we undergo such circumstances in our lives, we do have our almighty King who says to us, "Fear not!" He will take care of our future and restore to us all that we have lost in the past.

Have a blessed day!
